Stir Fry Thai Basil & Chilli Beef Salad


Full of flavour and colour, this salad makes a delicious meal anytime of the week

  • Juice of 1 small lime
  • 2 teaspoons fish sauce
  • 2 teaspoons grated palm sugar
  • 45g Five Tastes Stir Fry Shot - Thai Basil & Chilli
  • 250g piece beef eye fillet, partially frozen
  • 1 carrot, cut into julienne strips
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small Lebanese cucumber, halved lengthways and thinly sliced
  • 1 small red capsicum, cut into julienne strips
  • 50g snow peas, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup Thai basil leaves
  • 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup roasted cashew nuts, roughly chopped


Step 1

Combine lime juice, fish sauce, palm sugar and 2 teaspoons Five Tastes Stir Fry Shot in a small screw top jar and shake well to make a dressing. Set aside.

Step 2

Thinly slice beef fillet into 5mm thick slices and place in a bowl. Add remaining Five Tastes Stir Fry Shot and toss gently to coat beef well. Heat a lightly oiled non stick frypan or BBQ plate over medium heat and cook beef on both sides until just cooked and charred. Remove and rest for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Combine remaining ingredients except cashew nuts and place on a large platter. Top with beef strips and cashew nuts. Drizzle with dressing and serve.

Tasty Tip!

Beef fillet will slice easier if partially frozen.
