Hoisin Pork With Stir Fried Rice

A family favourite, this fried rice has never been easier to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon red food colouring
  • 45g Five Tastes Stir Fry Shot - Chinese Hoisin & Garlic
  • 250g piece pork fillet
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 1 small red capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 250g microwave pre-cooked long grain rice, warmed, following packet directions
  • 1 small red chilli, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ¼ cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 100g bean shoots
  • Sliced spring onion, extra, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1

Combine orange juice, honey, food colouring and half of the Five Tastes Stir Fry Shot in a bowl. Stir well. Add pork and stand for 5 minutes.

Step 2

Place pork on a baking paper lined tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes or until cooked to your liking. Remove from oven, cover loosely with foil and rest for 10 minutes. Thinly slice pork.

Step 3

Combine egg and half the sesame oil in a small bowl. Heat half the peanut oil in a wok and add garlic. Cook for 10 seconds until it just begins to colour. Add beaten egg and swirl wok to coat. When egg is just set, break up into small pieces. Remove and keep warm.

Step 4

Add remaining peanut oil to the wok, spring onions and capsicum and stir fry for 1 minute. Add rice, chilli, soy sauce, peas and remaining sesame oil and stir fry for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Add remaining Five Tastes Stir Fry Shot and bean shoots and stir fry for a further 1 minute. Top with sliced pork and serve garnished with extra spring onion.

Tasty Tip!

When warming rice in the microwave, only heat until just warm, approximately 50 seconds. Rice will cook further when in the wok.
