Glazed Chilli Beef

For those who like some heat, this one packs a punch! Prefect for 2 with rice or serves more in a banquet.

Ingredients

  • 2 x 45g Five Tastes Stir Fry Shots – Thai Basil & Chilli
  • 30g palm sugar, grated
  • 1 tablespoon kecap manis
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 500g thinly sliced fillet steak
  • 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
  • Sliced spring onion and Thai basil leaves, for garnish
  • Steamed rice and lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Step 1

Combine Five Tastes Stir Fry Shots, palm sugar, kecap manis and fish sauce together. Add sliced beef, cover and marinate for 20-30 minutes.

Step 2

Heat half the oil in a wok over high heat. Add beef in batches and stir fry for 2-3 minutes or until browned and cooked to your liking, adding more oil if needed.

Step 3

Serve immediately sprinkled with sesame seeds and garnished with spring onion and Thai basil leaves. Serve accompanied with rice and lime wedges.

Tasty Tip!

Ensure beef slices are in a single layer in the wok for fast cooking and to seal in juices.
